Today here in Louisiana it is overcast and cool. Here at J and B Learning turned out to bright and shinny learning! The glominess didn't stop us from getting our Today's Goals finished! We had a great day. We went from Attentiveness to working on Kindness as our Habit Training.
We started learning a new painting by Van Gogh called Girl in the Woods it was made in August 1882 with oil on panel. It is very different then the 3 we have study this seems to be darker and deeper. The detail is very good when it comes to the trees. you feel as if your in the woods when you look at it. According to my children the painting in Black and White makes them feel like it is kinda spooky or the girl is ghost like. So we looked at the painting with color as well as the black and white. We found that the color is way easier to see detail like the is a tree that has fallen in the back of painting. We also have learned Vincent van Gogh's earliest paintings offer some interesting insights into his ongoing development as an artist. Stylistically some of the works seem flat and the colours aren't always used to their best effect, but these paintings nevertheless reflect an emerging genius. We are so learning to enjoy Vincent Van Goghs art!
For this two weeks we are learning a new Mozart master piece called "An die Freude" / Song / KV 53 / KV 47e. According to Makenzee it makes her want to dance and act out with hand movements as the lady sings! Makenzee also said "if only I knew what she was saying as she sings it would be even better! But I love it and it is soothing to me!" Jon-Jon said "to be honest it is actually a cool piece." Of Coarse all Lileigh said it is just so beautiful. See according to Lileigh everything is always beautiful!
Today I found out I have a co-leader for Girl Scouts YAY..... I am so excited because this past weekend I also have found another little girl as well as a co-leader and her daughter so know we need 1 more girl to officially be called a troop 463.
