I am so Thankful

AS we come to an important Holiday at least I feel Thanksgiving is important. I feel it is our families job to instill to our child why it is important to acknowledge what we are thankful for. But it is also important to let it be know everyday of the year not just one day!

This week we are going to focus on what is important to us as a family! What can we do to make better as well as who can we help to let them know we are thankful they are here. We have a lot of people who don't have much but they are so filled with Gods love you may never know it. I just want my children to understand no matter how little or how much you have being grateful as well as THANKFUL is very important.

We will be spending Thanksgiving day with my husbands Mom Marilyn's family here in the city we live. Then we will be going to Texas to spend Thanksgiving with his Dad and Momma. We love Texas. =) I just wish we could spend time with my parents in New Mexico. Hopefully one day we will get to move to New Mexico!

1) I am so thankful for being able to worship my Heavenly Father and that he gave each and everyone of us the chance to be with him through the sacrifice of his son Christ Jesus.
2) I am thankful for my family, friends and military.
3) I am thankful for being able to home school my children
4) I am thankful for my home, food, water and clothing on our backs.
5) I am thankful for all of you for reading and commenting on our blog!

                                                               With Gods Blessings,

O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known His doings among the peoples!

To Hunt or Not

Well my husband loves to hunt. He has not really been able to go hunting since we have been together. He has everything he needs with a few exceptions. I sure hope he gets to this year and we end up with some meat in freezer.

As we all know Meat is one of the most expensive things to put on our tables. My family are meat eaters I have tried the vegetarian meals at least once or twice a week and it didn't go over very well.
Well back to my story. My husband has a bow he has been hunkering to use. Nope no luck yet but he is getting good at using his targets in back yard did I mention we live in city limits. Praying no one see's or says anything. Fortunately it has been all good. Can we say redneck in the city!  Sorry no pictures!

Well it has trickled down. Guess what not one but all my children that are still ate home want to go with Daddy and hunt. Makenzee says Daddy I want to go squirrel hunting. So he took her with her 22 riffle that changes to a 410 shot gun and we all went out to shoot it to help site it in.  We feel safety is very important so we are making sure they know and respect everything they touch or do! We went to Thomas' family farm. Here are the pictures:
Checking to see if it is loaded. Makenzee doing it herself

Abbi out of harms way and NOT happy

We used the cracker box for 410 it's all peppered up!
The box was for the 22 and you can not see them but Thomas put 4 small colored in circle to have us aim at!

Daddy also got out his tree stand it's a climber and they are scary well they are to me because  I am scared of heights unfortunately. But here are some of the kids in daddy's tree climber! Thomas set the tree climber about 5 feet off ground. Now notice I am not in one of these pictures camera was my friend! We were in Sabine County Texas my husbands parents are butted up again the Sabine National Forrest.

Abbi thought she was so big

Jon-Jon was climbing it up stopped to smile.

V for Veterans!

We really talked and read a lot of what Veterans Day really means. We found out that a lot of people really do not understand what Veterans day is. Well learned it is not just for the Vets who have served and died for our country. I found it really odd that there is so many who don't understand. There is another Holiday for it and that is called Memorial Day. Veterans day is for those living and who have and still are serving in our Military!

My family in it's self has a lot of family and friends who have and who are serving! We made Thank You cards for them. The kids really enjoyed making something special to give back. In Makenzee's words this isn't much of nothing Momma they gave us freedom and we give them paper! I explained that it's the thinking about and telling that counts! Here is what they choose for inside of card!

May the LORD now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this.
2 Samuel 2:6
Thank you so much for serving our country! If it wasn’t for Americans like you we wouldn’t be able to enjoy our freedom!

 Hugs from us,
                       Jon, Makenzee, Lileigh and Abbigale

We also read a couple of neat books here are 2 the girls really enjoyed What is Veterans day? By: Margot Parker and The Veterans Day Visitor By: Catalanotto & Pamela Schembri.  In closing we had a very stressful week when it came to Jon-Jon but over all it has turned out successful! Thank you Lord for your growing love.
God Bless

Talk about 2's

Well I have been reflecting on my life. I love my family and I am very thankful for them. I am very blessed to be able to stay home and home school my children. But yes, I kinda feel like that's all I am doing. Specially when kids whine whine whine and don't think they need to listen or complete their chores. But that's called staying on task and making sure they do it.

Well I have 5 children. I am very proud of them. Yes they drive me crazy and make me wonder what they heck I am doing staying home with them 24/7. The chores never end but do they ever?!?! Now mind you there are only 4 still at home! I have to say my 2 year old seems to make up for all of them!

Abbigale has a nick name and it is ABBI Bear and let me tell you it fits she is a bear. She knows what she wants when she want it how she wants where she wants. She isn't afraid of the word NO and when she gives you the evil eye makes you wonder what needs to be tied down or locked!! She thinks everything is fair game! She can beat most 2 year old with her screaming, throwing fits, throwing whatever is in her path. She is a master of finding things to smear all over walls or her self. She thinks most things are Lotion. For instance destine, Vaseline,  lotion, shampoo, soap, paint, etc. Sorry didn't have camera to get pictures but trust me you would have been amazed!  Let me tell you she can make everything look good and slimy with little effort. Abbi's favorite word is NO, Abbi do (shoe), Abbi's eat (seat), A for Abbi, I two plus more. She loves squealing in public or wait any where she is she loves to.

I am sure your wondering do they discipline this child well let me tell you yes we do. She helps clean her mess for instances she decided to paint my benches for the table GREEN plus she repainted the kids dough art. Well I did get pictures as you can see. She helped mommy clean up the green paint well I had to ask her to not help me unfortunately. She also was coloring with markers with her sister Guess she was hungry because she was eating the tips yep she was I promise. As well as smelling them up her nose and all over her face! Where do two year olds get their ideas??? No really where do they?!?!?

We went to the Library and well lets just say NO one could read to think! She made sure she made story time loud. I was so embarrassed as Ms. Faith was reading and doing her story time and songs she kept telling me she is alright don't worry. Well easier said then done. She was trying to climb the walls where books go. She at one point tried pulling off the books, laid on the book shelf rolling all over the floor. Need I say more. Here is a couple of pictures.

Yes I made this about ABBI Bear everyone needs a little time to see there is always someone somewhere that has a child worse then you. So I keep telling myself that other Momma's have a child who maybe could be worse then my 2 year old. But then I say let them come read this POST and compare!!!! I have many more stories but these are the most recent!
